A downloadable game

Current State of Multiplayer

For multiplayer, the game can currently be played using LAN-like network software (e.g., Hamachi or Radmin VPN). One player needs to click "Host Game" in the lobby, while the other player enters the IP address provided by the LAN-like software into the IP input field and then clicks "Join Game." Boom! Now you can play together!

Alternatively, you can play with a bot (which still has plenty of bugs) by clicking "Play Offline (Solo)" in the lobby UI.

About the game creation

This project started from my desire to practice developing a multiplayer game in Godot. I personally enjoy Marvel Snap and Legends of Runeterra, so I thought it would be interesting to combine the simplicity of Marvel Snap as a foundation with some of the mechanics and gimmicks from Legends of Runeterra. My goal was to experiment and see if it could turn into a fun fan-made game concept.

In terms of core gameplay, it follows Marvel Snap almost exactly (since I basically copied the core structure of the game), but I added more complexity by allowing cards to level up, almost exactly like in Legends of Runeterra. I also brought in different card types, including Followers and Landmarks (Spells are still in development).

Currently, there are only 10 designed characters because I’ve run out of ideas for now. The game balance is also quite poor — I designed everything mostly for fun 🤣. For both current and future card designs, I try to stay as faithful as possible to Legends of Runeterra (for example, characters like Trundle and Tryndamere). However, some characters required major adjustments (such as the four Ascended champions). In some cases, it’s because I haven’t figured out how to code certain abilities yet, and in others, it’s because I’m not sure how to properly implement those mechanics into this system.

The current card design pattern, besides combining Legends of Runeterra and Marvel Snap, was also inspired by an idea I saw from someone on Reddit. I personally liked the concept, so I adapted it into what you see in the post. However, the design is still missing proper card subtype labels. I’ve tried redesigning this part multiple times, but I still don’t feel satisfied with how it looks.

Most of the image assets and icons are from Legends of Runeterra. Some elements were edited using Photopea (no AI-generated images were used). However, I did use AI assistance extensively for coding, such as Claude Code.

I’ll probably continue developing this project gradually in my spare time, since I have a full-time job.
